Blackberry does not receive email

If you are using a blackberry and also retrieving email from a computer, either the blackberry fails and stops retrieving email or your computer based email client (ie outlook) prompts you for user name & password.
This problem occurs because the mailbox does not allow "concurrent" access (ie two devices trying to retrieve email at the same time). This is primarily an issue with pop3 technology.
At your computer that is also retrieving email,
you need to make sure you are using IMAP instead of pop3:
as your email retrieval. Also on your blackberry, you should contact your provider (ie phone company) and make sure that your phone has the latest firmware.
